The clinic is holding between two and three sessions a day. They tend to see about 40 people for general consultations and dress wounds for 20 or so more. Although we have been doing many clinics at camps we are trying in general to move towards a more village based system. We feel that this helps people feel more comfortable and secure when they return to their damaged homes. It also allows people to spend time on repairs and so forth instead of spending hours traveling to and queing for other clinics. Local temples have provided a few venues, but we have also set up impromptu clinics under trees or in front porches. Dr Pippa (or Dr Pepper as the locals know her) has now been joined by Dr Tony who has fitted in very well and they continue to be very ably assisted by Sidney, Samantha and the indomitable Frenchman, Diddier.

Once again we are simply trying to fill gaps left by the major NGO's and the government services, who, we should say, are doing a good job in general trying to cope.
