The ever intrepid Doug Brian has now left Aid Sri Lanka to meet commitments kayaking in Nepal. Doug has been a fantastic asset to Aid Sri Lanka. His energy, commitment and drive meant that we were able to achieve great results as the situation out here developed.

He spearheaded work projects in Mirrisa and, more recently, Moratuwa. Doug proved himself to be the kind of person who gets things done. He gets things done extremely effectively but without fuss.

We are also extremely grateful for his calm, rational analysis of the situation in the east of the country: after an extended recce he advised us that the situation was too difficult for us to be able to operate effectively and recent events (escalating violence and stagnation of aid effort for various reasons) have proved his advice not only correct, but extremely worthwhile.

We all wish Doug the best in his plans to get into the army. I would say that the army will have a fantastic asset in Doug, and frankly, that he is the type of person the army needs.

Thanks Doug!
