Just to let you know that we have been busy recently - even if the latest news has been slower. There is now far less scope for small, low key projects that change on a day by day basis. We are now trying to work with organisations operating on the ground; offering them financial and administrative support for specific projects. One such is a temporary housing project in Moratuwa. As you know we have been working with IMPAKT AID (www.impaktaid.com) in that area. Impakt Aid have been single-handedly supporting camps in that area for a long while and have been trying hard to highlight the lack of aid getting to an area - while is only a short drive from Colombo.

Doug completed several sanitation and other projects in the area - while at the same time investigating temporary housing. We have signed a deal with Impakt Aid to build 45 houses with a view to increasing that to 70. Aid Sri Lanka set up the project, working with Impakt Aid and the local authorities. Aid Sri Lanka will pay for the physical costs of building these shelters. Impakt Aid is providing the administrative backup for the project. Once the land is handed over by the local authorities, work will commence.
